Where Does My Strength Come From?
"But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." 2 Corinthians 12:9
Sometimes life is really hard. I say that because I have truly felt this way many times in my own life and I do not believe I am alone in that fact. I can't tell you how many times someone has asked me. Why does God allow us to suffer?
God tells us in his word that we will go through trials in this world. That pain and suffering are a part of this life and I have found this to be true but I have also discovered some very unexpected things in the midst of my darkest days. God was there. I have felt him; his love is spirit surrounding me in ways that cannot be described unless you have been there. Unless you have encountered him in this way and I find it so amazing that there are so many, so many humans walking around who have. There is something so powerful about being in a room, or building where there are hundreds; sometimes thousands of people worshiping together and you know, they know. They've been overcome and poured over by his presence and love. It erases all question, all doubt and no matter how far you may wander you can never deny his existence.
"and I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge-that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:17-19
and there it is. Isn't it true that so often we don't have the time or the need for God but when the waves come and valley's draw dark in our life it is there in the midst of those trials and suffering we are ready and he comes, he always comes.
