The Journey
"You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart"
Jeremiah 29:13
"Life is a Journey" You've probably heard someone say it at some point in your life. I know I did. It wasn't until now, that I realized just how much of a profound truth that really is. Life is a journey. It is full of wondering and wandering. Questioning and finding answers, sometimes just discovering that there isn't always one. Life is painful but also joyful. Its exciting and boring, a mystery and a revelation, but no matter what your experience is, all in all, in the end, it is a Journey. One we are all on.
The most important part of the journey of one's soul is the seeking of God. Isn't it interesting that despite the circumstances that bring each of us to this place of question, at some point we all seem to end up there.
St. Augustine of Hippo; an early theologian and philosopher once expressed it in these words "Thou hast made us for thyself, O' Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in thee".
Somehow as human beings we are the only creation that experiences the awareness of ourselves and our place over all other creatures on our planet and it drives a desire in us to experience life on a much deeper psychological level. Most of creation operates on instinct and survival needs but humankind is different each of us carries a desire or yearning if you will, for more, better, the perfection of all that life can offer and we chase it.
"The perfect love experience, perfect justice or good, perfect beauty, the perfect home or life, the perfect knowledge or truth."
Many scholars deduce that this yearning or desire to fulfill these five transcendental experiences are an accepted basis that provide evidences of the existence of God.
For some light reading:

I have always believed in God, mostly because at a very young age I was taught about God who lived in Heaven but as I developed into my teenage years I questioned who he was. If there was more to this life and I spent most of mine chasing after all the perfections fed by our societal influences just like most, but there was always something more inside another desire/yearning that superseded the others. That yearning for absolute truth.
There can only be one truth. There are millions of theories and explanations for why or how we came to be but the reality is that there is only one answer and it alone is the truth. It wasn't a simple journey for me although maybe it has been for some. Not for a lack of God trying. Hind sight is 20/20 right! I always questioned, riddled with doubt and it was these questions that became the backbone of my life's journey. I hate to admit it, but I was asleep for most of it. Until suddenly I was awakened.
"God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us." Acts 17:27
